Today, we had a presentation on family violence and our group did some research on child abuse... I just don't understand.. How can you bear to abuse a child? Don't these people have any feelings.. Do they even have feelings in the first place? Most of the abusers are their closest kins such as their parents... Come on man, it's your own flesh and blood.. if you didn't like or want the child, why have it and then torment the poor child... Many couples want to have children but are unsuccessful. Yet, those who can easily have one are very irresponsible.. Why is the world like that? Whatever problems that one may have does not give one the right to abuse someone in order to vent their anger.. Darn this people.. Oh ya... didya know that maid abuse in Singapore is increasing in number? Maid are people with feelings.. They are not slaves.. why do the employers here have to treat them without any respect? (treat them like shit, to be precise) Singaporeans are wierd.. When it comes to the helping the tsunami victims, many were eager to help.. But yet, right here, ppl are abusing the domestic workers. Don't they realise that these domestic workers come from the tsunami hit areas too? You treat those in their in own land with compassion and those in the foreign land with cruelty? what kind of logic is that? When a maid is being abused, did anyone bother to help? Most of the neighbours would shut their door and mind their own business.. where is your CONSCIENCE ppl? I guess Singaporeans here take things for granted.. Just because they earn big bucks and live comfortably, they feel that they are a level higher than the rest.. well, too bad we're all the same.. 2 eyes, 1 nose, 1 mouth.. DOn't tell me the ppl here have 3 eyes, 2 noses and 2 mouths? (if they really do.. then i have nothing to say). treat ppl with respect. Respect has to be earned.
